M6 | Warwickshire | Carriageway Closure | Expect Delays

The M6 is currently closed from J2 to J3 with delays of at least 15 minutes covering several miles of the northbound carriageway. This closure is due to a overturned HGV which has subsequently caught fire. Highways England has resources deployed working hard to restore normal conditions as soon as possible.

All emergency services are in attendance including the Central Motorway Police, who are leading the response to this incident.

For traffic approaching the closure locally, you are advised to expect disruption with extra journey time and may potentially have to re-route your journey.  If travelling towards this area from much farther afield, you may wish to change your strategic route, allow extra travel time and follow guidance from our on-road variable message signs and media.

Local Diversion route is signed by the hollow circle diversion symbol:

Exit the M6 at J2 onto the A46 southbound (Coventry Eastern Bypass). Continue along the A46 to its junction with the A45 (Tollbar End Roundabout). Take the exit onto the A45 (Stonebridge Highway). Continue along the A45 westwards to its junction with the A452 (Stonebridge roundabout). Take the exit onto the A452 northbound (Chester Road) and continue along A452/A446 to M6 J4.
