A19 | Northumberland | Road Closure | Delays 15 minutes
The A19 is currently closed in both directions from its junctions of the A690 (Stony Gate) to the A1018 (Seaton) with delays of at least 15 minutes covering several miles of the road. This closure is due to a road traffic collision and Northumberland Police Accident Investigation is taking place.
For traffic approaching the closure locally, you are advised to expect disruption with extra journey time and may potentially have to re-route your journey.
If travelling towards this area from much farther afield, you may wish to change your strategic route, allow extra travel time and follow guidance from our on-road variable message signs and media.
Diversion route details and guidance is as follows;
Road users travelling northbound is asked to follow the “Hollow Diamond” diversion symbol:
Exit the A19 northbound and follow the slip road round to continue on the A1018 for 1.4 miles.
Take the second exit on the roundabout to join the B1285 southbound.
Continue on the B1285, then turn right on to the B1404.
Continue on the B1404 until the roundabout with the A690.
At the roundabout take the 3rd exit on to the A690 and continue for approx. 1.5 miles.
At the roundabout take the first exit to re-join the A19 northbound.
